For 2025 Reunion to Celebrate Alumni Unions

Although Windsor Mountain School only survived 31 years in it’s Lenox home, the former Winthrop Estate, there are several alums who met at Windsor and went on to live together after their time as students. The first to come to mind of course was Heinz and Caroline Bondy. She a student and he a son of our founders Max and Gertrud who would become Headmaster through most of the three decades in Lenox. There are several other couples who met at Windsor and remain together. Some are reconnections, some are unions from Reunions, and a very few are people who knew their destiny right away was to be together long after attending Windsor. In this unique group is Stephan Frenkel and Terri Galst who both graduated in 1971 (both one year students) then came back to campus to get engaged and marry in 1975. Here is the note they shared recently:

Hi Wonderful People,

I’m Steve Frenkel, my wife is Terri (Galst) Frenkel. We graduated from Windsor Mountain in 1971. We met at Windsor Mountain, got engaged on campus and married in 1975. We will very happily celebrate our 50th anniversary next year!

We are so proud of all things Windsor Mountain that I included it in my recently published bestselling book: “Clara’s Secret.” (click here) You can visit the website at: www.laevnotes.com

Heinz Bondy is noted in the book along with my family members who, like our old headmaster, were “Ritchie Boys.” Please take the time to have a look at who the Ritchie Boys were – nothing less than WWII heroes who deserve to be memorialized and honored.

We wish all those associated with so wonderful a place as Windsor Mountain all our love!

Steve & Terri

So in the spirit of the Frenkel’s for the 2025 Reunion let’s celebrate Windsor’s continuing legacy more than 50 years since the closing which lives on in all of us alums!
